Go ahead, laugh, it’s funny. We love lawyer jokes, and sadly, for most people, they have had experiences that align with jokes. Generally, the only people who like lawyers are their close friends and family. Well, that’s what we hope to become for you and your family. When you represent a client, you are not only representing that person, but you are representing their hopes, dreams, future, and their family members. We think too many lawyers lose sight of that. Every lawyer and firm will tell you they are different. We will not be telling you that. We will tell you about the goals of our representation.
We want to be the lawyers you invite to the cookout. We want to call you on your birthday or the birth of a son or daughter. We want to establish a dependable relationship with you and your family. At the same time, we will represent your interests with professionalism, zeal, and dedication. We will make sure to present the facts and circumstances of your case in the best possible light under the Laws of Louisiana. We will always strive to do more than minimally necessary, and hold ourselves to a much higher standard of professionalism and ethics that that which has inspired the jokes.
Call, email, or come in, and one of our lawyers will speak with you. If we are not able to help you with your issue then we will advise you of alternatives that can help.
Douglass “Doug” was born and raised locally. He has lived in New Orleans and Metairie all of his life, not counting his stint in Baton Rouge while attending LSU. After graduation, Douglass wanted to return to New Orleans, and he started Law School at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law graduating in 2014. After passing the bar, Doug began practicing with Tonry, Brinson, & Glorioso in Slidell where he handled criminal, property, personal injury, and succession matters. Looking to work closer to home, Douglass spent some time with Juan LaFonta & Associates before starting GNO Legal with fellow Loyola graduate and friend, Mike. While not at the office or in the courtroom, Doug likes to spend time with his wife Rachel and their six kids and two dogs, gardening, camping, watching the Saints win, or just relaxing together.
